Lower Manhattan Family Fund

Manhattan Youth’s Lower Manhattan Family Fund is a special program that assists working families with limited incomes by providing after-school and summertime childcare. For twenty years, Manhattan Youth has provided care for children of families that are in crisis due to a parent’s death, illness, job loss, divorce, or other extenuating circumstances. In addition, the fund assists Manhattan Youth childcare workers by providing assistance for college applications, school books, and funds necessary to begin college. This year Manhattan Youth’s Lower Manhattan Family Fund has given families in need more than $400,000 in assistance.

The Lower Manhattan Family Fund is funded by private contributions, foundation and corporate grants, and allocations from Manhattan Youth’s annual budget.
