Celebrate your next special occasion with a Pool Party at the Downtown Community Center! Our new 25-yard pool features an overhead skylight, beautifully tiled changing rooms and plenty of pool toys. We keep the water warm to be especially inviting for party-goers of all ages, and there's even a steam room for adults.
A “Clay Date” is a hilariously fun and creative way to celebrate a birthday, wedding shower, friends night out or corporate retreat.
All 90 minute parties are lead by a professional artisan and an assistant. Working with wet clay and glazing, your masterpiece will then remain in the studio to dry and be fired in our kiln. The pieces are ready for pick-up in about two weeks.
In addition to our Pool and Ceramics Parties, we offer a wide variety of spaces that you can reserve for hosting events such as birthdays, bar and bat mitzvahs, sweet sixteen parties, corporate events and weddings. When you celebrate your occasion at the Downtown Community Center, you’ll have then added satisfaction of having your party fees supporting activities like free senior swim and after-school programs at the DCC.
Pool Parties can be reserved for Saturday or Sunday afternoons, based on availability. Pool parties can be just a pool rental, but most families choose to also rent a a private party room for refreshments—one hour in each room. We will provide lifeguard supervision in the pool area, as well as all tables, chairs, and paper goods in the party room, complementary juice boxes, and cleanup.
We can also make your event even more special by arranging pool games and activities, a swim lesson party for young children, or other specialty add-ons to get everyone involved and part of the fun!
Ages 5 and older,drop-off, up to 20 children: an engaging activity for elementary up to high school age children and teens for a delightful and easy way to celebrate, projects are geared for specific age groups.
Adults up to 18 guests: a more elaborate group project can be planned, or just have fun and be kids again, playing in the mud and creating a keepsake that will be a lasting memento of a great time with friends.
Great Hall
Our largest single room in the Center, at about 2400 square feet, is located on the first floor. It has a beautiful wood floor, gloriously high ceiling, and a corner cafe and serving area-wet bar. It can comfortably accommodate up to 75 in either a sit down or cocktail setting. The room can also be used as a performance space if your event has entertainment.
Dance-Activity Studio
Our Dance-Activity Studio, on our pool level, is perfect for dancing and active play. It can be used as a multi-purpose party space for smaller groups than the Great Hall—it’s comfortable for about 25 guests if there’s dancing, or 35 for a more relaxed party. The room features a full view of our pool through its wall of windows and also has a convenient private handicap accessible bathroom.
Teen Lounge
The Teen Lounge is a great option for a relaxed gathering for all ages. It has a pool and foosball table in addition to couches and seating areas. The Teen Lounge can accommodate up to 40 guests—perfect for a Sweet 16 or teen party with music!
Classrooms
Classrooms that can accomodate up to 25 people are available on weekdays from 7 to 9 pm.
