Dear Manhattan Youth Families,

This summer has flown by just as quickly as those that went before. As in past years, we have turned our attention to the fall, and like you, have been following NYC Public schools plans for reopening. We have spent the summer dreaming and planning for every possibility, but as you know, there is still uncertainty about exactly the way schools will be run this fall. We know that working parents will need support so that they can be to their jobs on time. Children want to see their friends and begin after-school activities. All of this needs to happen in ways that are safe and responsibile. Manhattan Youth has always been here to answer the needs for children and families, even in times of difficulty, and we are doing everything we can to meet this challenge in the safest, best ways possible.

Learning Labs at Manhattan Youth: Our goal on September 10th is to open a learning lab program that assists children on the days they are not in school. This program is for K-8th grades, the registration forms will be posted soon.

Manhattan Youth After-school Programs: Our elementary after-school programs are currently under assessment. We are considering the kinds of activities we can safely offer that will help children connect, learn and have fun together. If you are the parent of an elementary aged student, you can help us with this planning by completing our pre-registration survey for after-school.

After-School Programs for 6th -8th Grade: Our middle school programs are currently planning for their registration process. We will have more information on this by September 10th.

Community Center Programs: We are anticipating that our Community Center and Swim Programs will open as soon as it is safe to do so. We hope to have updates by mid-September. We can't wait to see you in the Center and pool again!

Clean Air and HVAC Updates: As you probably have heard, Manhattan Youth is in the process of upgrading our Community Center's HVAC system for state-of-the-art updates and filration. while this is expensive, we understand that ventilation is the most important thing we can address at this time. If you'd like to make a donation towards this effort, please donate today.

Warmly,

Bob Townley
